01 Dynamic Payoff Simulator
This interactive control panel models the mathematical state-transition of global powers. Adjust the core variables on the left to observe how they alter the utility equations. To maintain peace, you must ensure the Status Quo payoff strictly exceeds the Escalation payoff.
Control Variables
Degree of uncertainty, opacity, and noise. High entropy causes misperception.
Economic, structural, and existential interdependence.
Active communication to ensure defensive moves aren't seen as threats.
Failure of the Third Player to act as a Feedback Controller. 0 = Perfect Parity.
Utility Payoff Matrix
Compares U(StatusQuo) vs U(Escalation). For peace, Status Quo must be higher.
State Space Trajectory
Entropy vs Coupling coordinates.
Triad of Safeties
Active feedback loops maintaining the pendulum.
02 Kahn's Escalation Ladder
If the Metastable Peace framework fails, the system enters the state-transition model of Herman Kahn's 44-rung ladder. Each threshold represents a discrete state with increasing negative payoffs and decreasing reversibility.
